Pick up any

Wed ,08/09/2010

Pick up any large objects that could cause your vacuum cleaner to clog up. Smaller objects are fine, just as long as they can pass through the vacuum hose. You should check the vacuum bag to ensure that it is not full. If it is full, you should empty it change it. A full bag cannot suck up much dirt, as the suction power will be greatly reduced due to the bag taking up a great space thus limiting the suction process.

You should always be on the lookout for straw, thread, and string as it can trap debris in the vacuum hose and result in a clog. These types of hazards are also bad for the agitators as well, as they can clog up the suction as well, or get tangled up in the agitators and cause more problem or damage to your vacuum set.

You should vacuum forward instead of going backwards. Going forward will get you do the job quicker and you won’t wear your cord out near as fast.

Wed ,08/09/2010

A friend of mine recently called me a bit excited about a waterless car wash and polish product. I decided to join him and another fellow for lunch a couple of days later to see this new car detailing twist.

Streaky windows that don?t get clean, water spots that don?t come out unless a serious wax job takes place used to be the normal. There was recently a time that no matter what I did I couldn?t even get my windows clean. Now like many people I?d go to a car wash more often than not as I didn?t want to fool with all the nonsense.

After a simple demo, the days of wash and polish, tire-n-trim, metal polish, clear coat rival, leather cleaner and the ole ice pad took on a totally different meaning. I couldn?t believe my eyes. My car washing and polishing routine has changed forever.

Pads, hose, bucket, window cleaner, soap and water, wax, towels and rags are for the most part a thing of the past. The cleanliness of this new process is absolutely outstanding.

New Marcellus Money Demands Professional Advice

0 Comments | Daily Review, The; Towanda, Pa., Sep 5, 2010 | by David Falchek

The Marcellus Shale rush didn’t change the client base for Tunkhannock certified public accountant Paul Sidorek. The only thing that changed was the number of zeros he was handling.

A typical client may be a retired farmer, who last year may have collected $20,000 in Social Security but now receives $80,000 per month in natural gas royalties.

“When I tell them about tax and estate planning, appraisals and inheritance issues, they leave my office with a headache,” Sidorek said.

The issues that arise when that much money is at stake have driven up demand for professionals such as Sidorek as well as attorneys and financial planners. Tens of millions of dollars are flowing into the Marcellus Shale region in the form of lease payments, and hundreds of millions are on the way as wells are drilled and production kicks up. With so much at stake – the environment, money and property rights – those in the Marcellus Shale region need professional advice.

William R. Lewis, a certified financial planner in Montrose, said those who come into newfound wealth often need a lot of coaching.

“They have never had a reason to talk to people like me,” he said. “We have to be a quarterback and mentor – get them before-tax counsel, update their wills, set aside money for taxes, before we even talk about what to do with the money.”

Scranton attorney Steve Saunders long had a specialty in environmental law. Several years ago, he recognized the swelling demand for legal specialties not just in environmental law, but also oil and gas law and property law. He is now a member of the state Bar Association’s Oil and Gas Committee

TOOLS FOR THE DYSLEXIC:LEARNING TO NAVIGATE THROUGH A NON-DYSLEXIC WORLD WHEN YOU VIEW THE WORLD COMPLETELY DIFFERENTLY

Many times, I would daydream in class because the material would be hard for me to follow. I also attended a non-traditional school for my graduate degree:an online university that was perfectly fine with granting me extensions to finish courses and wanted students to e-mail or call professors taking as much time as they needed to argue any problem. Even though I understood biological and chemical principles, the way I thought about math problems so differently that it made it hard for me to communicate my thoughts about a given topic with my chemistry or biology professors. This was a complete achievement for a person who always struggled with school

Music is such a

Wed ,08/09/2010

Music is such a great part of our culture that you would think there would be more opportunities for musicians. Ironically, choosing a career in music is one of the hardest things a person can do, even with a bachelor degree, Aside from going into teaching, the rest of the musical field is very competitive and very hard to get your foot in the door. So does a bachelor degree in music really mean anything? Well, we’ll leave that debate for those who feel like waging it. For the purpose of this article, we’ll just give you a basic idea of what to expect from a Bachelor of Arts program in music.

The first year of your bachelor degree in music usually revolves around an introduction to music itself. You’ll learn the many different forms of classic music and cover the various eras. You’ll probably learn about a number of composers like Back, Mozart and Chopin.

When dawn breaks Scheherazade stops

Wed ,08/09/2010

When dawn breaks Scheherazade stops in the middle of her tale.

The King has to know how the story ends, so he spares her life for another night. This process repeats for 1001 nights.

You might not be writing to save your life, but you should craft your story like you are.

What does that mean?

A HOOK TO LIVE FOR

Put yourself in Scheherazade?s place ? the specter of death is hanging over you. What do you think the chances are that the King will let you continue your tale, if it doesn?t get off to a wiz bang start?

The lesson here is simple ? pick the best opening for your story.

However, this approach

Tue ,07/09/2010

However, this approach has mostly been abandoned by many antivirus companies because of its tendency to sound too many false positives. And today, there are so many non-malicious programs which can modify other executable files in disregard to the false positive issue. So this technique has become almost obsolete.

Popular Antivirus Software:

Norton Antivirus: One of the most well-known antivirus software, Norton automatically detects and removes viruses, rids computer of unwanted spyware, and scans email and IM attachments for threats.

McAfee VirusScan: The antivirus detects, blocks, and removes viruses and spyware, and protects irreplaceable documents such as digital photos, family movies, and financial spreadsheets, identity theft and slower PC performance.

PC-cillin Internet Security: From Trend Micro, it is an award-winning antivirus security and a personal firewall.

I have four friends

Tue ,07/09/2010

I have four friends who have had the “Lap Band” surgery in the past year. All four of them were overweight to the degree that major surgery was a justified option. All four of them recovered nicely from the surgery, and all four are losing weight at a good and healthy rate. Overall, their experiences have been very positive.

Again, each of these four people were more than just slightly overweight. Their own weight issues posed a genuine health risk and demanded a lifestyle change.

I am — by no means — endorsing surgery as a solution for an overweight condition. I believe that this is a decision that should be made by the individual and his or her own physician, after careful consideration. I do, however, bring up the issue for a reason that pertains to every person fighting the Battle of the Bulge, whether a candidate for surgery or not.

I ran across an article at FoxNews.com (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,183124,00.html) that highlighted an alternative to the invasive “lap band” surgery, that may serve as a “safer” alternative. The procedure involves inserting a round silicon “balloon” into the stomach of the patient by slipping it through the mouth and down the throat.

The blog explosion created a great

Tue ,07/09/2010

The blog explosion created a great opportunity for savvy marketers–they could post their URL’s in the comments of blogs and reap the benefits of links back to their sites as the search engines crawled through.

Some undertook blog-marketing responsibly. They found blogs legitimately related to their sites and offered insightful, relevant commentary on issues. In exchange for adding to discussion, they were rewarded with a link.

Others found more nefarious ways to take advantage of the link opportunity, and “blog spam” became a concern. Comment sections of blogs were bombarded with URL’s that were not even tangentially related to their content. Incidents became increasingly common and obvious.

Google and the other major search engines determined this blog spam was undermining their efforts to create search engine rankings that accurately reflected the quality and utility of web sites.

And now, as a result, we have the “nofollow” tag. Inclusion of the tag tells search engine robots to ignore a link, rather than cataloging it. The command will automatically become a part of many blogs, as Blogger (a Google enterprise) and several other major blog hosts have announced their intention to build the feature into their offerings.

There is some question as to the efficacy of “nofollow.” Already, some bloggers who are not enamored with the concept are protesting the move and establishing “nofollow free zones.” A quick look through the forums demonstrates a desire on the part of many to discover workarounds for the tag.
